A citytrip to: New York City

Note: I wrote this article only in English, but you will understand it! If you just check the list, you know what to do in NYC! x

Hi Guys!

Today I have a blog post about what to do in New York City!

NY is a magical city! For me it feels like home, every time I come back home from New York, I miss NY so much! I always get homesickness if I come back from NY, I normally never miss my home(town) in The Netherlands but I always miss NY. I just get enchanted! I Love New York City so so so much! One day I will live there! I have such a special feeling about NY.

I was in NY for a week. There is a lot to do in New York, I write down the things I did or wanted to do ;)

If you are shorter in NY, you might have to skip some things or do more on 1 day. I can't really remember when I did what, so I wrote down 4 full days haha. I wrote 'Tips' as well, those I did as well except from a few, but I wanted to do all ;) Some things take more time then others.

* is a must do ;)

First of all, make sure you have got all the licenses ( an Esta, a valid pasport, Airplane ticket, Hotel/AirBNB/ A place to sleep, etc.)

After you have survived all the security and the flight, your trip can really start!

I bought a metrocard for a week ( At the airport (JKF)), but you can choose yourself how many days you want a metrocard.

You also can take a cab.

Tip: If you are in NY, I would recommend a '' New York Pass'', You don't have to buy tickets or wait ver long in lines. Because you have already paid for the NY pass. ( At the many things that are included in the NY pass, Save time and money, Save up to 70% when visiting just 3 attractions a day, Over 90 NY attractions to choose from, Skip ticket lines at many of the busiest places) Check the site of the NY pass for more information.

I went to bed earlier because it was a long day of traveling. ( I had a transfer in London)

The first day I went to:

- the WTC (World Trade Center)

- 9/11 memorial (and museum) *

- Walk through Wallstreet

- NY Watertaxi around New York City ( You'll going past by the Brooklyn & Manhattan Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Manhattan) *

- Boat to the Statue of Liberty (+ Ellis Island)

If you don't have so much time in NY, I recommend to take the NY Watertaxi instead of going to the Statue of Liberty.

I wrote an article about some eat hotspot in New York, you can go check this blogpost out by clicking the tag ''Hotspot or Healthy or New York'' or You can look through the month June 2017 and find this blogpost ;)

The second day I went to:

- Times Square *

- Walking past Radio city music hall ( If you want you can do a tour there)

- Central Park and rent a bike to cycle through Central Park ( Definitely recommend this!!) *

- MOMA or Guggenheim or Met Museum *

- Empire State Building ( By night)

( If you don't have so much time in NY, I recommend to go to Rockerfeller Center ( Top of the Rocks) Instead of the Empire State Building, The view at the Rockefeller Center is way more beautiful!

( View Rockerfeller Center/ Top of the Rocks)

The third day I went to:

- a tour through the NY Yankees Stadium ( Watching a game is also really cool to do)

- Bryant Park (Little park close to Times Square) *

- Fashion District

- Flatiron Building *

- China town and Little Italy ( Really close to each other)

- Rockerfeller Center *

- Walking (or Cycling) over the Brooklyn Bridge *

- DUMBO ( District in Brooklyn, close to the Brooklyn Bridge) *

The fourth day I went to:

- The Highline *

-Grand Central Station *

- Walking past Central Park, The Met (steps), Upper East Side

- Muscial on Broadway ( I watched Miss Saigon, a really beautiful story and musical!) *

I recommend to get up early in the morning, so you have a whole day in the City!

Tip: If you want to watch a musical, the buy your tickets last minute in the ticket booth Times Square. (TKTS Times Square)

Make sure you buy it there and not from people around the ticket booth there because that is most of the time not real!

Tip: go check to golden hour/sunset at the Brooklyn Bridge or in a street!

Tip: If you like Gossip Girl, then you can do a Gossip Girl tour!

Tip: Shopping in NY? YES! The Fifth Avenue, Macy's, Times Square, Apple store, Vintage shopping. NY got so many places where you can shop!

Tip: If you ordered the NY Pass, you'll get a little book, in that book, you can see where you can go with the NY Pass and what there is to do in NY.

Tip: Willemsburg, Greenpoint, SoHo, Upper East Side, Chelsea

Tip: Apps for in NY? Subway, New York Pass, MAPS.me, One World Trade Center Visitor Guide

Tip: Cycle through Brooklyn

Tip: Visit a basketball game from the NY Knicks

Tip: Visit some more parks in Brooklyn

Tip: Walk past by the Plaza Hotel and go in to check it out ;)

Hope you have an amazing time in NEW YORK CITY!

xoxo,

Marieke
