A city trip to: Barcelona

¡Hola!

This summer I went to Barcelona for 3 days and 4 nights. I have been there 2 times before! So I thought that I would write a blogpost about: A city trip to : Barcelona. And 'What to do in: Barcelona'!

I really like Barcelona, it is warm there! And I really like the Spanish language. I think that Barcelona is such a beautiful city with all the architecture from Gaudi. The weather is great! It's a old city but with new details, with a lot of beautiful houses. And there is a beach! Perfect for a cooling down after a hot day in the city!

Obviously you can go by plane. There is an airport in Barcelona. But I went by car. I am from the Netherlands so going by car is far but to do! I think it was like 1400 km by car. My family and I didn't go by car there in just one day, we made a stop in France (Vallon en Sully). We had a blast in a every old but beautiful Chateau! We arrived around 15:00 am on Tuesday. The Chateau where beautiful and even had a swimming pool! The next morning we had a 'petit dejeuner' and a tour through the Chateau! I loved it there! We had such a cute room! So after we had the tour through the Castle, we where going to Barcelona! After 8 hours of driving we finally arrived in Barcelona! We first went to the supermarket cuzz obviously we needed food! We slept in a AirBnB, so we needed breakfast and some more stuff! After the supermarket we arrived at the cutest AirBnB! The little house where beautiful from inside and outside and the view was amazing! We could look over Barcelona! We had a great stay there! (Link to the AirBnB down below!)

I made a list 'What to do in: Barcelona'

What to do: Barcelona

* an Airbnb :

You really feel like a resident of Barcelona, my Airbnb was located in the hills with a view over Barcelona. It is really relax to be out of the city. But also sort of in the city. It was like 15 minutes with the metro to Plaza Catalunya. Definitely recommend to do this!

* Sagrada Familia :

A must if you are in Barcelona! It is so beautiful! They are still building it. It's Gaudi's design. Make sure you come here early because it around here always very very busy! You can also go in side the Cathedral, make sure you buy tickets for this. Around the Sagrada Familia there is a little park, with also a great view at the Sagrada Familia.

* Park Güel:

A beautiful Gaudi Park in 'the hills' of Barcelona.

*Passeig de Gràcia:

This is one of the main streets of Barcelona and the most expensive one! There are all the high end brands like, Chanel, Prada, Gucci and more but also more cheaper ones like, H&M, Zara, Stradivarius, etc. It is a really beautiful street with a lot of eateries. Also there are a lot of Gaudi 'houses' on the Passeig De Gràcia, very beautiful. Most houses that Gaudi designed, you can visit. Like Casa Mila and more!

*Cruising Barcelona bike:

Cruising through Barcelona by bike with a tourguide is definitely one of the most fun things to do in Barcelona. You cycle through the most interesting parts of Barcelona, You see a lot of touristy things in a short amount of time, but you also see a lot things you would normally not see! It is so fun to do!

* The Beach of Barcelona:

If you have some time left or its bloody hot and you want to cool down in the sea and relax on the beach or just walking over the boulevard, then go to the beach of Barcelona. It is very busy but you can chill at a bar/cafe/restaurant at the boulevard!

* Montjuïc cable car:

This cable car has a beautiful view over Barcelona, if you are at the top you have a castle there which you can visit, or just enjoying the view. That's what I did, after I enjoyed the view and took some picture, my and my family walked all the way down. Long walking trip but definitely worth it!

* Tibidabo:

A beautiful Catholic church (Iglesia del Sagrat Cor) and a attacking park in the hills of Barcelona.

If you visit the church and you go to the top, you have the most beautiful view over whole Barcelona surrounded by a lot of green! It is the highest hill of the mountain range Serra de Collserola.

*Parc de la Ciutadella:

The park is a city park in Barcelona. You can relax by the lake and the waterfall, rent a boat for sailing, hiking through the park, watch the various statues in the park or even going to the zoo. There are also several museums and government buildings in the park, such as the Parlement de Catalunya. It is a beautiful park!

* Columbus statue:

The famous Columbus Statue, which point to America with its finger, is a 60 meter high tower with the image of the America explorer.

La Ramblas:

The Ramblas is more than a kilometer long and runs from central Plaça Catalyna to the sea.It is busy on the Ramblas. The streets are flooded by tourists. There are kiosks, stall, flower stalls, shields, statues, terraces, restaurants, shops, people and traffic. There is a big market as well with fresh fish, vegetables, fruit, meat and more! I really recommend going to that market and La Ramblas!

* The harbor of Barcelona:

Just to stroll along the sea and the harbor. There is a big shopping mall as well.

* Camp Nou:

The station of Barcelona! If you love soccer you should definitely go there! But even if you aren't the biggest fan of soccer it is still a experience to be there! You can do a tour through the stadion or even cooler watch a game of Barcelona! I watched the season openingsgame ' Joan Gamper', that was so awesome! With fireworks and more but that is only with the Joan Gamper, I believe.

Where to eat in Barcelona:

* Cherie

*Flax and Kale * Bellavista del Jardín del Norte (Restaurant form messie)

* Don't remember the name but it was on the beach, looked really cute with lights, it was something with an 'F' hihi.

There are so many good, cute hotspots in Barcelona, take a look at tripadvisor of just stroll through Barcelona and find one! :)

Hope you have a good and safe time in Barcelona!

Adios & xoxo,

Marieke
